Cut Bank Animal Shelter was founded in 1972 to help end pet overpopulation in Cut Bank by the adoption of animals. In 2004, we started to add the lowering the numbers of animals needlessly destroyed due to overpopulation by promoting the spaying and neutering of ALL companion animals and adoption. Cut Bank Animal Shelter has endeavored relentlessly to enhance the bond between humans and animals through adoption, education and services for responsible, compassionate pet ownership. Our 4-year-old pet sterilization program has successfully altered more than 150 animals from feral colonies in town to low-income families to animals awaiting adoption in our proactively fight the area’s dire pet overpopulation problem. Cut Bank Animal Shelter picks up animals of low-income families and transports them to Havre, where we are able to have the animals spayed or neutered at a Low-Cost Spay Neuter Clinic six times a year. Or we pay $20.00 towards the altering of a low-income family's pet at Northern Veterinary Clinic or Grass Winds Veterinary Clinic. In 2008, Cut Bank Animal Shelter and PetSmart Charities® join forces to offer $20.00 spay/neuter coupons for pets of low-income families residing in the Cut Bank.
