JUNE 9, 2008
 
 
I. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL:
 
Mayor Joni Stewart called the meeting of the Cut Bank City Council to order at 12:08 PM, Monday, June 9, 2008. The following Councilpersons answered roll call Tom Shock, Kelly Solberg, and William McCauley. Clerk-Treasurer Diana Filban and City Superintendent Jim Suta were also in attendance. Councilperson J. W. Eaton was absent. All stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
VISITORS:
 
Gloria Taylor

Gloria Taylor approached the Council about the baby pool and the need to replace or update the facility. There is a fund raising committee that will be working on this project. Mrs. Taylor asked the City if they would be able to have an engineer look at the site and get a projected cost. A short discussion was held regarding the baby pool. Mayor Stewart said she would follow up with Mrs. Taylor on any additional input or data.
 
 

II. APPROVAL OF MAY 2008 CLAIMS:

 
Councilperson McCauley moved to approve the claims for the month of May 2008. Councilperson Shock made the second motion. The motion passed 3-0.
 
 

III. NEW BUSINESS:

 

Councilperson Shock moved to approve the hiring of Lexie Ledbetter and Kelsey Filban for summer help at the Civic Center. Councilperson McCauley made the second motion. The motion carried 3-0.

Councilperson Solberg made a motion to approve the hiring of Caitlyn Brown, Samantha Biegler, Audrey Matthews, Ceanna Johnson, Nick Gilbert, Byron Meeks, Jeremy Whelchel, Alyx Biegler, Calcie Dezort, Steven Paulson, Luke Barrey and Josh Rutherford for the swimming pool this summer. Councilperson McCauley made the second motion. The motion passed 3-0.

Councilperson Shock made a motion to approve the hiring of Richard Shinkle, Chad Hickey and Eugene Matt for the summer street crew. Councilperson McCauley made the second motion. The motion was approved 3-0.

Councilperson McCauley moved to approve the hiring of Tina Voise as Payroll Clerk. Councilperson Shock made the second motion. The motion was approved by 3-0.

V. ADJOURNMENT:
 
There being no further business to come before the council, Councilperson Solberg motioned to adjourn the meeting at 12:28 PM. The second motion was made by Councilperson Shock. The motion carried 3-0.
